A dangerous batsman if the bowling i, not first-class; a good field, especially at point. STRAllHAN, G. (Cheltenham). One of, if not the most brilliant amateur fiel�man of the day; bowls slow round with a high delivery and at time:,, with effect; hardly so safe a bat as � o f old. LucAS, A. C. (Harrow). Only played once, but proved himself a great acquisi- tion ; bats in good style, ,vitb a straight bat, and play:; ha.rd. A g00t.l field. TrLLARD, C. (Cambridge), and \V. H. GamA (Oxford) play for Surrey. S.USSEX CoTTERILL, J.M. (B1-ighto11). Played splendid cricket in 1874, has the very best defence and can seYerely punish the loose balls; a good :field. CoTTElULL, Rev.
