A Very good cricketer in every department; a splendid bat, with defence as well as plenty of hit, and a neat cut; an excellent field, and a successful bowler at times; Kent by residence. STOKES, F. (Rugby). A fast round-arm bowler of great pace ; a very good bat; a good. long-stop, and should play more for the county. WurTE, E. A. Has done good service to his county, 11nd has scored well, being a safe if not showy bat. YARDLEY, W. (Rugby). One of the best amateur batsmen of the day; plays splendid cricket, his driving being very fine ; an uncertain field. Only played onoe for his cot�ty in 1874. W. FooBD KELCEY (Oxford) plays for Kent. DEWHURST, R. Has a free style of batting, but · has not been so successful as was anticipated ; good field, and can throw well. HAROCASTLE, W. A dangerous batsman; seldom · leaves the wicket without sooring; r exeels chiefly in hitting; good change bowler, HoBNBY, A. N. (Harrow}. A batsman with very few superiors; plays the best cricket, with fine defenoe and great power of hitting ; is a splendid' field and snre catch and can bowl with� either arm.
