In 1878 he made 2 , 139 runs in thirty-eight innings; but even this was surpassed in 1871 , when in thirty-five innings he accumulated 2 , 739. In 1874 he was credited with 152 wickets , 64 more than fell to him in 1873 , and in this r<: pect 1874 was the most successful season that he hlls ever had. In 1873 he made over a hundred seven , and in 1874 eight times.
