Was seen rarely last season ; possesses great defence and plays genuine cricket ; also fields well . EVETTS, W. (Harrow and Oxford). A batsman resolute in hitting , butwith- out muchdefence ; fields well. FOSTER, REV. H. (Free Foresters ). A very hard andfree hitter . N o wa master at Malvern College . HERBERT, A. W. H. (Essex ). A very neat and effective batsman , very pretty style and cuts well ; a fine field . LYTTELTON , Hon. S. G. (Eton and Cambridge ). Worcestershire . Bats well , and is very useful all round, being a good bowler as well as a field . MARRIOTT , C. (Leicester ). Avery useful manall round ; a very good bat and a splendid field . MITCHELL, R. A. H. (Eton and Oxford). As essentially a first -class cricketer as ever ; perfect in his defence , and resolute in his hitting , especially to leg ; no better judge of the game. ROSE, W. M. (Eton). Has been very successful as a " lob " bowler at times ; oneof the twelve w h ovisited Canada; fair bat. VOULES, REV. S. C. (Marlborough and Oxford ). The wicket -keeper of the United North Eleven , and has few equals in this position ; a good bat. Hardly played as much as usual in 1872. Address -Half-way House, Kingsthorpe Road, Northampton. C A M B R I D G E S H I R E . CARPENTER , ROBERT . Born at Cambridge , Nov. 18, 1831. Still one of the finest batsmen in England , with unwearied defence the very best point out. Address-Cambridge. HAYWARD, THOMAS . Born March 21, 1835. Hardly so good as of old , and almost entirely retired from first class matches . Address " All England Ale Stores ," Cambridge.
