HADOW, A. A. (Harrow ). Can bowl good medium pace round -arm and bat fairly . OTTAWAY, C. J. (Oxford ). Cań also play for Middlesex . RUTTER, E. (Rugby). A slow left -hand round -arm bowler , and has done the county great service ; is a good field and better bat than his scores imply . TABOR, A. S. (Cambridge University ). By birth plays for Middlesex . TABOR, A. (Harrow and Cambridge ). Avery steady bat, and useful at breaking bowling from his extreme caution ; is also a good field . TURNER, M. (Cheltenham). A very good wicket keeper , andat times bats to s o m eaccount . WALKER, I. D. (Harrow). One of the very best all -round cricketers , being a fine batsman, with a talent for hitting on the off side , and a truly irre- proachable field , especially at mid-off . Agood captain , and excellent judge ofthegame. WALKER, R. D. ( Harrow and Oxford ). Has not figured so muchin prominent matches of late ; a very clever slow round-armbowler, and a run-getting bat in his ownstyle . W A L K E R, V. E. (Harrow). Thebest judge of the game extant ; as a captain has no equal, and is still a brilliant field in any position , and a most effective b a t s m a n. WILKINSON , A. J. (Shrewsbury ). An efficient bat , with defence and hit com- bined; bowls slow round-arm. N O T T I N G H A M S H I R E . BEEVOR, J. G. (Uppingham). Has scored well in previous years for his county ; a fine hitter , and good all -round cricketer . RIDDELL, E. M. H. (Uppingham). A steady mediumpace round-arm bowler ; afairb a t. S U R R E Y . AKROYD, S. H. (Radley). A brilliant batsman, and very difficult to dismiss if allowed to get set ; a safe field ; only played once for Surrey in 1873 . AKROYD, B. N. (Radley). Adifficult wicket to secure , and useful to break the bowling , though he has , too , hitting powers ; as a point is first class , and likely to improve with the bat . BOULT, F. H. Useful throughout the season for Surrey ; a straight fast bowler, and dangerous " on his day" ; bats in good style and usually gets runs. BRAY, E. (Westminster andCambridge). A good slow round-arm bowler , and woull bat well had he more strength ; only played once for Surrey in 1873. BURLS, C. W. Has better cricket in himthan he showed in 1873 ; a good bat, andcanhit well to square leg. CHENERY, C. J. A useful man, being a fast run -getter , and a most untiring and certain field anywhere ; works hard for his side .
