Lushington , Captain of Eleven, and as such proved most efficient ; a really good bat whenset, but unlucky as a rule this season ; bowls slow round occasionally with success . A. P. Bayley , a really good bat, butwants patience ; has fine wrist play and tremendous hitting powers . A. Brisco , a useful change bowler , coming in from the leg ; punishes loose bowling but ought to play with a straight bat. F. L. Clements , has a strong defence ; cuts well and drives freely on the off side ; a plucky long -stop . C. Faulkner , with practice will turn out a neat little bat ; wants care with slows ; sharp in the field . K. H. Kempe, the bat of the Eleven ; especially good on the off side ; his two innings of 50 and 20 in the Eleven v. Sixteen at Fenners were a treat to witness ; afine field (and rural bowler), Captain for ensuing season . F. Lacey, a very fair bat all round ; generally to be depended on for runs when wanted . F. Salmon , did not play much this season ; a sound bat, cutting nicely . R. C. Seaton , is too fond of back-play , and a preliminary flourish , but has a strong defence nevertheless ; agood catch and first -rate long -stop , but wants quickness . H. M. Sims, see University Eleven. C. M. Sharpe , the most useful manin the Eleven ; a very good headbowler ; slow round with variation of pace and a break -back ; a steady bat, with lots of punishing powers ; good field anywhere . W. H. Turner, a fast and verydifficult bowler on his day, but we fear has over-bowled himself ; his début as a bat this season astonished both himself and his friends ; has an attitude and
