9 9 QUEEN'S ELEVEN IN 1873.-H. Bourdillon , a fair bat, without much defence , butwith great hitting powers . W. B. Cloeté disappointed us as a bat, but was very useful as a bowler . W. C. F. Cross has good defence and excellent wrist play : was prevented , by study, from playing often for his college . P. Cunliffe , anerratic bowler and uncertain bat. H. W. Griffith is a good bat, but, owing to injuries received on the field , was prevented from having as much practice as he wanted; with much pains may become a slow bowler . C. H. Hodges , a tremen- dous hitter , without muchdefence ; sharp field . E. L. Hough (Captain ), through hard hitting , combined with a fair defence , has twice attained three figures ; bowls for his college . C. de W. Kitcat might do well in every department , but lacks energy : a somnolent field . H. R. Sandford , an uncertain bat, but certain catch ; wants more practice to become a good slow bowler. E. Strode scored well, invariably ; must open his shoulders more to loose bowling ; fair field , and moderately straight bowler. C. W. Tuckwell , a good, steady bat ; fair change bowler, and excellent long-stop . C A M B R I D G E U N I V R S I T Y . OFFICERS FOR 1873. -President , F. E. R. Fryer (Caius ) ; Treasurer , G. H.
