6 Acknowledgements This book could not have been put together without the considerable help of Philip Bailey, to whom I am indebted for his researches in the Newsroom at the British Library, and for much more besides; of Adam Frankowski, for advice at all stages based on his vast knowledge of West Indian cricket, and for supplying some summary scores of non-first-class matches that (at the time of writing) have yet to find their way to the Cricket Archive database; and of John Bryant, who allowed me to trespass into his ‘Hard-to Get Scores’ territory.
