96 New faces man who was to become the Club’s leading wicket-taker further honed his skills as a seam bowler during 1948 – a summer which saw the youngster proudly hold open one of the doors in the Lord’s pavilion for another Don as D.G.Bradman walked through the building during the Test match against England. It was a great moment for the youngster from the Gower, but like other proud Welshmen, the highlight for ‘Shep’ during 1948 was reading in the newspapers about Glamorgan CCC and following the fortunes of his future employers as they lifted the Championship title for the first time. 1.
