Tho bowling was weak, and should lave been punished at will. Tho Ulnionvillo mon nmay bo fairly classed as sticks. They showed no form, and sinply blocked, which defonco proved rathor diflicult to break through. Good stiight bowling was no uso, as thoy soldon bit at it and continually poked. When they did lit they usually chose the best balls and pulled them acrosas, and Merritt, when he went on, soon got most of the wickets with slow twister. Keefer knocked the last fow down, for they couldn't oven biock. They fiolded well, especially againist Toronto's second, which produced 89. Bu:ns anid Morrison bit woll and Paton camne off again. PENINSUL&R. The iuclph Club hîad a very enijoyable gamne with the Penin- sulars on Friday. the 18th, and their stay in Detroit was made very pleasant by the hospitality of the mmbers of the Peninsular Club. Unfortunately the homo club could not niako this a two days' match, and th gamo was left unfinished. Morphy, for tho visitors, played two good innings, anmd Lockwood, Lemmon and Ogdon, arc all deserving of praise for their batting in tho secord innings. Baniford and Calvert made their respective scores very carefully; Dale knîocked off his 14 without waiting to sec what the bowling was like. Dale's bowling was very straight throughout, and though lie pit-led, as a rule, very short, lis great pace carried hian through, and on a rallier uncertain wicket made him difficult to play. Paton got thrce mon in his first over, but was not successful afterwards. Henry and Hutchinson bowled coiistently well' Score;
