ACS Women's International Cricket Year Book 2026

12 ZIMBABWE ICC awarded permanent Test and ODI status to all Women Full Member teams in April 2021. Apart from Afghanistan, Zimbabwe were the only Full Member country at that time whose women’s team did not already have full international status based on their ranking. The first List A and Twenty20 ranked domestic tournaments therefore took place in 2021/22 with women’s sides with the same team names as the men’s domestic sides. There have also been regional tournaments with Northern and Southern, including one two-day game ranked first-class. OTHER COUNTRIES Netherlands had international status up to the November 2011 ICC World Qualifier when they lost their place to Bangladesh, and they played a Test against South Africa in 2007. There is therefore a case that any domestic limited overs matches in that period should be ranked, but note that a series of matches between South Africa and Netherlands in 1968/69 have never been regarded as Tests, and it seems likely that the number of teams and standard of domestic cricket does not warrant being ranked. Denmark had ODI status from July 1989 to July 1999 (although admitted as IWCC members in 1985 and still given as members in 2002). Other countries have had Affiliate status, and have played ODI matches, but no domestic matches in these countries would be ranked. ICC awarded ODI status to the five Associate countries, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and United States of America, from May 2022 until the April 2025 Women’s World Cup qualifier at which United Arab Emirates gained ODI status in place of United States of America. Matches played by these countries against ranked teams from Full Member countries would therefore be ranked, but no domestic cricket. T20 matches played by these countries against ranked teams are ranked as T20.
