He only played in eleven of Gloucestershire’s games and in these he took just 37 wickets at the much increased average of 28.45. On no occasion did he take more than five wickets in an innings and his best overall performance was against Derbyshire at the end of May when he took 4 for 42 in the first innings and 3 for 5 in 1.4 overs in the second. As a batsman he scored 63 runs in eighteen innings and he held four catches. 79
