At Bristol between 17th and 23rd June he took 20 wickets in the matches against Derbyshire and Hampshire at an average of 12.45. Against Sussex at Worthing he took 13 for 95 including an analysis of 8 for 37 as Sussex were dismissed in their second innings for 82. In all he took five wickets in an innings nine times and ten wickets in a match on three occasions.
