These matches included three four-day games versus Pakistan Under 25 which came to be recognised as unofficial Tests. With Mike Brearley and Dennis Amiss, Fletcher was one of the successes on the tour. In the second unofficial Test Fletcher shared in a stand of 202 with Amiss for the third wicket, playing some brilliant strokes to finish with 124.
