Famous Cricketers No 93 - Keith Fletcher O.B.E.
1965 Although he was one of only two players who scored over 1,000 runs for Essex in the Championship in 1965, Fletcher had not passed 50 in sixteen innings when he scored an unbeaten century in his seventeenth. This poor start was a big disappointment to those who had come to expect more, particularly as the next eight innings only produced one score in double figures. However, Fletcher stuck to his task and finished the season strongly, scoring 457 in his last seven matches at an average of over forty-one. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 72.
