The M.C.C. who were quite weak being without Hobbs, Hendren, Chapman and Tate and their chosen captain G.R.Jackson, who was unable to tour owing to illness, the burden of leading the side fell on R.T.Stanyforth the Army player. Geary who had performed so well early on broke down after three matches and played little cricket afterwards.
