Edrich played in only two of the Test matches without scoring many runs although playing quite well. This short tour had only four first-class matches outside the Test matches. All five Test matches were drawn on slow wickets. Many of the English players suffered with stomach problems and this caused Edrich to be unavailable for the Bombay Test that started on 21st January. 19
