Much of the 1965 summer was cold, wet and windy and it was, compared with his first two seasons in first-class cricket, a relatively disappointing one for Underwood. Although always a model of accuracy he did not always take wickets when conditions were favourable to his type of bowling. Even so he did take 89 wickets, including five wickets in an innings six times and eleven in the match against Warwickshire. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 57.
