Jessop was third in the county’s batting and bowling averages. In the match against Nottinghamshire, at Trent Bridge, he made the highest score of the innings, the first of many occasions. At Bristol, against Sussex, he made, for the first time, the highest score of the match. He achieved this on many occasions too. Against Middlesex, at Lord’s, he took his first haul of 5 wickets in an innings. In the match against Yorkshire at Cheltenham, Jessop took four catches in an innings for the first time. He injured his hand in the second innings of the match against Somerset at Taunton. At the end of the season, he was invited to play in two festival matches at Scarborough.
