Jessop was second in the County’s batting averages and fourth in the bowling. In the second innings of the match against Somerset at Bristol, Jessop reached his 50 in 15 minutes. This was the fastest first-class 50 and he equalled his own record in 1907. He hit 28 off one over from L.C.Braund. This was also a record and remained so until E.B. Alletson scored 34 off E.H.Killick in 1911. Against Nottingham at Trent Bridge, Jessop made 206 out of 315 in 140 minutes with 27 fours. He reached 50 in 30 minutes and 100 in 70.
