In the first match, Jessop made 64 in 35 minutes, putting on 49 while A.E.Stoddart made one run. He was bowled by J.B.King, trying to hit the ball out of the ground. He bowled King with his second ball. In the five matches of the tour, Jessop took 24 wickets for 129 runs. 18
