Australia won the series by four Tests to nil. For Worcestershire, Botham’s batting was disappointing as he scored only 276 runs in eighteen Championship innings at an average of 16.23. He was much more successful with the ball taking fifty-one wickets at 22.00 runs each. He took seven for 85 against Sussex at Hove and eleven wickets in the match for 175 runs against Northamptonshire at Northampton.
