1983/84 - England in New Zealand and Pakistan A short tour of New Zealand and Pakistan between January and March 1984 saw Botham take part in three Test matches against New Zealand and one against Pakistan. At Wellington, in the first New Zealand Test, he established a record by performing the match double of a century and five wickets in an innings for the fifth time. His 138 was made off 167 balls with two 6s and twenty-two 4s. On the tour Botham scored 409 runs at an average of 40.90 and took sixteen wickets at 36.81.
