Botham made 291 runs in the series at 29.10 making vital contributions at Sydney, where he made 59 out of an all out score of 152 in the first innings, and at Adelaide where he made 74 out of England’s 169 all out. He took twenty-three wickets at 24.65 with his best figures being four for 42 in the Adelaide Test.
