ABOUT THE AUTHOR Norman Rogers was born in 1944 and has lived most of his life in Coventry, except for the five years 1965-1970 when he lived in Australia, for most of that time in Sydney. His working life has been spent in light engineering, and he currently works as Sales Manager for a company selling bearings and sintered metal components. He played cricket in the Coventry Works League as a fast bowler for many years, and is proud of the fact that he once played at Edgbaston for Coventry Schoolboys in a winning team against their Birmingham counterparts. In the winter he played rugby union and later became a fully qualified referee and then an assessor. He is President of his rugby club, Trinity Guild (founded 1899), whom he has been associated with since 1958 as player, youth team coach and Chairman. He played rugby union, rugby league and grade cricket when living in Australia. His biography of Eric Hollies was published in December 2000. He is a member of Warwickshire CCC, ACS, CMS and The Cricket Society.
