He captured one hundred wickets again for the fourteenth consecutive season, finishing with 112 at the relatively high cost, for him, of 28.13, in Championship games. He took five or more wickets in an innings seven times and ten or more wickets in a match on three occasions. His best match figures were twelve for 169 against Somerset at Bristol and he took 7 for 93 against Derbyshire at Cheltenham.
