For the first time in the county’s history two matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled. Parker and Dennett carried the bowling with very lttle support, Dennett taking 118 wickets and Parker 50. The next highest was thirteen! Parker took five wickets in an innings against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge and against the South African touring team at Bristol.
