It was the first season in which his wickets cost him less than 20 runs each. Two of his performances deserve a special mention. Against Nottinghamshire at Bristol in August he bowled throughout both the Nottinghamshire innings taking 8 for 48 and 4 for 15. This was the first time he had taken more than ten wickets in a match but, despite his efforts, Gloucestershire batted so poorly that they lost the match by five wickets. The other performance was with the bat against Worcestershire at Cheltenham when Parker made his highest score of the season, 48, and helped F.B.Roberts add 104 runs for the ninth wicket. Altogether he made 291 runs in thirty-three innings, average 12.12 and he held eight catches. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 52.
