Famous Cricketers No 79 - Richard Hadlee
Preface I would like to thank Philip Bailey, Brian Croudy, Dr. Andrew Hignell, Michael Hill, Michael Smith and Peter Wynne-Thomas for responding to my requests for information on Hadlee’s career. I would also like to express my gratitude to my cousin, Dr. James Douglas, who on a trip to New Zealand was able to obtain details of Hadlee’s performances at Christchurch Boys’ High School and his record in club cricket, both for Lancaster Park and Old Boys. This, of course, would not have been possible without the assistance of the School and the Canterbury of New Zealand Rugby, Cricket and Sports Museum. Their help was much appreciated. And finally, I would like to thank Kit Bartlett and Peter Griffiths for all the hard work they have put into this volume and to Dennis Lambert for agreeing to read the text.
