Although his Test performances were solid with the bat and modest with the ball in a series in which England were annihilated 4-1 he performed well in a mixture of first-class games and other fixtures. Overall Crawford’s figures were 29 innings, twice not out, 1,061 runs at an average of 39.26 with two centuries. He bowled 369.3 overs 118 maidens, 941 runs, 91 wickets at an average of 10.14 runs each. Crawford’s highest score was an unbeaten innings of 212 against XVIII of Queenstown. He captured 10 wickets in a first-class game against Western Province at Cape Town and 11 wickets against Pretoria at Pretoria in a non-first-class match. His top score of 74 in the Fifth Test at Cape Town remained his highest Test innings. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 23.
