In the match at Lord’s on July 19 seven wickets fell while Haygarth was at the crease scoring 2 runs. Haygarth did not bat in the Gentlemen’s second innings at Lord’s on July 1-3 as he was taken ill. His first innings for the Single on August 9-11 lasted nearly three hours. He was for the third time fourth in the national batting averages behind F.H.Norman, F.P.Miller and George Parr.
