Famous Cricketers No 74 - Bill Edrich

1953 This was the first year that Bill Edrich was the sole captain of Middlesex and also saw his recall to the England team. He was at the crease when England regained the Ashes at The Oval. His bowling was now in decline but his batting continued to be very fruitful scoring over 2500 runs in the season, of which 1748 were for Middlesex in the Championship where the county again finished fifth.
