ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jerry Lodge , a Surrey C.C.C. Member, is an active participant of the Surrey Statistics Group. He is involved in statistical research of Surrey cricket and cricketers and produces figures and articles for the Yearbook. His book on the 100 Greats of Surrey has been published this year. This is his fifth book in the Famous Cricketers Series, the earlier ones being T.G.Evans, Sir Alec V. Bedser, Ken Barrington and the second edition of Jack Hobbs. He enjoys an active retirement after a lifetime in insurance working for a leading firm of international brokers. Jerry is also on the Committee of the A.C.S.
