They outplayed the West Indies in all five Tests and won the series 3-0. Like the rest of his colleagues, Ramadhin was totally ineffective on the featherbed pitches and his record suffered accordingly. Missing one Test because of injury, he was restricted to 5 wickets at prohibitive cost. Despite the extraordinary heroics of Clyde Walcott who scored 827 runs (ave 82.70) in the five Tests, the hosts were simply overwhelmed. For the first time in his career, Ramadhin’s overall bowling average rose above 20 runs per wicket and his career Test average also exceeded 30 for the first time.
