For the first time in a Test series, he out-bowled his partner Valentine, who fell far below his previous standards. Playing with greater confidence against the ‘Spin Twins’, the English batsmen, ably assisted by Brian Statham and Trevor Bailey with the ball, held the West Indies to a drawn series (2-2). Clyde Walcott and Everton Weekes batted splendidly, but the failure of Valentine and Frank Worrell had much to do 21
