ABOUT THE AUTHOR Howard Milton was born in Gravesend in 1946 and educated at the local Grammar School and Durham University. He has followed Kent county cricket since the mid 1950s and has written on the subject since 1977. He is now Honorary Statistician to the Kent County Cricket Club. Since 1977 he has also been Honorary Librarian of The Cricket Society and now serves on the Society’s Committee. A member of the ACS since 1973, he was Statistician of the Year in 1995. He is also a Vice President of Gravesend Cricket Club. He has worked for the Ministry of Defence since 1968 where he is now a senior librarian.
