In the three Test matches against Pakistan, he scored an unbeaten 100 at Hyderabad and three other fifties, to finish with 329 runs at an average of 82.25. In the first-class tour matches he made unbeaten hundreds against both the United Bank XI and the North West Frontier Governor’s XI. A broken armmeant that the Captain, Brearley, had to miss the third Test match.
