He proceeded to play in all the remaining county games. His highest innings of 42 was against Middlesex at Canterbury. It was made out of 60 and he opened the batting. Kent lost six of their ten county games and struggled to field a settled eleven - 25 players in all appearing in 12 matches. Lord Harris was the outstanding batsman and the only Kent man in the top 20 in the first-class averages.
