His final match was for H.D.G.Leveson-Gower’s XI in the Scarborough Festival against the Australians when he had Bradman missed three times while taking 5-95. Thus ended the career of the greatest wicket-taker of all time and a candidate for one of the truly great, if not the greatest, all-rounder. His total of 1,110 first-class appearances is the most by any player as is his total of 1,534 innings. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 1085.
