1927 For the first time since 1902 Rhodes failed to score one thousand runs in the season. His wicket total fell to 85 with a best innings performance of 6-20 and match performance of 9-77 against Gloucestershire at Dewsbury. He had a testimonial granted this season, sixteen years after his benefit and this realized £1821. Although he fell away as a batsmen, his highest score being 73, he still played some invaluable innings at critical times and took 82 wickets in all matches for 19 runs apiece.
