Famous Cricketers No 66 - Wilfred Rhodes
1922/23 - In India For the second time Rhodes visited India and he played four matches in all: two for the Europeans, one for All India (English) and one for a combined team of Muslims and Hindus (I do not remember ever seeing a photograph of Wilfred in a turban) against Europeans and Parsees. The second match was interrupted by an argument about the new ball being taken. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 828. His bowling was again exemplary and he continued the fine form he had shown since the war. He headed both batting and bowling averages although it would be true to say that Roy Kilner and Macaulay were more deadly day in and day out.
