Even so, it is noteworthy that he was never once run out in a Test match and that he struck his own wicket only once throughout his first-class career. Like most tail-enders, Hall was especially vulnerable to pace and lost his wicket most often to Fred Trueman (8), Alan Davidson (7), and Graham McKenzie (5). Neil Hawke, Ian Meckiff, Johnny Martin, Frank Misson and John Snow also claimed Hall’s wicket 4 times each. During his Test career, the bowlers who claimed his wicket most often were Trueman (6), Davidson (5), Snow (4) and Hawke (3). 47
