A broken arm suffered in Gloucestershire’s opening match against Oxford University, put him out of action until the third week in July. He appeared in the next six games before further injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. The seven matches he played in brought him a total of 324 runs at an average of 29.45 with a highest score of 83 not out and two other fifties. He made six catches. It was a frustrating season for him and Gloucestershire, in his absence, sank to bottom place in the Championship table. He made no appearances in the Gillette Cup.
