He played in twelve games including the Test matches at Brisbane and Sydney and scored a total of 658 runs at an average of 31.33. Jack Fingleton, in his book on the tour suggested that he was not used to batting on good pitches, which says something about the pitches at Bristol that he regularly played on. A.G.Moyes felt he might have benefitted from a move down the order to his favourite number 5 position. These were shrewd and sympathetic comments. In the Tests, Milton made scores of 5, 17, 8, and 8. In other M.C.C. games, he made a century against Victoria and fifties against South Australia, New South Wales, and a Combined XI. He fielded well, as always, taking three catches in an innings against Victoria and eleven in all. His tour ended when he was injured at Melbourne in the return match against Victoria.
