Famous Cricketers No 54 - Stan McCabe

1933/34 McCabe only played in one Sheffield Shield match as he was struck down with appendicitis before the South Australia game. It restricted him to just five appearances, but he did accrue two centuries: one before the injury for New South Wales against The Rest, being 110 in 172 minutes with 14 fours, and one just after with an excellent 119 for an Australian XI against Tasmania, which was a testimonial game for Blackie and Ironmonger. This innings contained 17 fours in 97 minutes. McCabe was unable to bowl after his operation for the last couple of games. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 76.
