Famous Cricekters No 53 - George Geary
1931 1931 was a miserably wet season, one of the worst in the Championship history, and all but 10 of Leicestershire’s 31 matches were left unfinished. Geary bowled well throughout the season, and once again exceeded a hundred wickets. His best support came from Horace Snary - Astill, now in his forty-second year, had fallen away somewhat. Four times taking ten wickets in a match, his best performance was eight for 20 off 22 overs against Worcestershire. His batting deteriorated, not once scoring a fifty.
