By then however the series was won conclusively and the West Indies’ victories in the first three Tests gave them 11 consecutive victories. Marshall and Garner continued to form an incisive opening attack, sharing 47 wickets while Walsh made his West Indies debut. After the series Clive Lloyd retired as the captain of West Indies.
