Famous Cricketers No 51 - Don Kenyon

1960 With Don at the helm Worcestershire improved on their position in the Championship by one place with two more wins than in 1959 and at Stourbridge at the end of June he recorded his seventh, and last, double-century with 201 in just under five hours against Glamorgan. He spent more time batting at number five but in the match at Romford he opened with twenty-year-old Ron Headley against Essex. They both scored centuries, Ron 108, the first of his 32 and Don his 55th for Worcestershire, adding 207 in 220 minutes. The season ended dismally with rain ruining matches with Derbyshire and Yorkshire at Worcester and Middlesex at Lord’s leaving Don with 1,750 runs for Worcestershire at an average of 31.25.
