ABOUT THE AUTHOR Les Hatton was born in West Bromwich in 1934 and moved to Sedgley in 1960 and, apart from his time with the Royal Artillery Band in Germany for two years, has lived all his life in the Black Country and is proud of his Black Country connections although neither of his parents came from the area - his father was born in Leominster, Herefordshire and his mother in Ladywood, Birmingham.
