1954 1954 saw the Welsh county jumping from tenth back to fourth place. Shepherd had 79 wickets at an average of 23.83 but Watkins, McConnon and Wooller all had better averages and aggregates. Nine wickets came in one innings against Northamptonshire at Cardiff.
